The Top Two 2011 Football Bets – From the Major

Roy Keane

Roy Keane for the chop? Ipswich in trouble?

I have been thinking for some time that the Championship offers some nice bets and using my views on how the season might develop, I have laid out some carefully thought through bets for your edification.

First  of all  I  think Cardiff are  uncertain to be promoted.  moving into second  on Tuesday following an important home win against Leeds, they are 5/4  best price to go up.  While I think they currently have the strongest squad, I think they could fritter the chance again.  Boothroyd seems  to be dwelling over his new contract and as joint favourite  to be top scorer in the league, I think this is an important risk.    Cardiff  have  had some thumpings  this  ye ar too, they are unlikely to be a buying club in the window and my advice is leave alone.

I do like the price of Becchio to be top scorer.  Leeds are an attacking unit and importantly get wide and service the box with good quality from the wings.  Bet with Victor Chandler who are 10/1 and offer each way terms of a quarter odds and five places – Generous, the best terms on the market and the best price about my man.  I also quite like the look of Morison at Millwall.  Again he is the key striker at the club and 33/1 with the same firm, get stuck in.

I am very concerned for Ipswich who are 13/2 for the drop.  I think Keanes days are numbered the noises coming from the man himself do not inspire confidence and who knows how the transition to a new manager will go.  Clubs like Palace have the ability to get out of trouble and I think Boro will also climb the table.  This drags Ipswich right into it with Preston – The Tractor Boys are joint bottom scorers in the league – 13/2 is a price.
