Well January finished a few days ago and what an absolute stormer for the Major. We ate well, drank well and tipped well!
We finished 26% up on all stakes finishing more profitably in horseracing (52%) than football (11%).
A full breakdown of bets won is available in the January Betting Summary. All of my data and summaries will be available all year from the top menu. Some analysis is done, is the Major better at GB racing tips or Irish racing? What price bracket is the most profitable?
Overall the Major is delighted with this start to the year. There were some dizzying highs. The selection of Baycross who caught the eye at Fairyhouse one Sunday and returned at 33/1 (touched 50/1 advised at 25/1). Neptune Collonges leading all the way and showing he still has a bit of class (advised at 9/1). Oscar Whisky picked because he was the only progressive sort, showing us that 4/1 was a joke and that he was a champion hurdle consideration.
I must remember in my betting resolution, I urged myself to treat victory like defeat. When you win you frequently do not analyse the result, in loss you ponder the mistake more.
In January, despite a tremendous overall result, I feel the Major offered too many bets. February might see a reduction in quantity and hopefully a maintenance of the result.
The Major – Relentlessly Postive.
